Let me guess - your camera roll full of photos of your children, but not so many of you with your children?
If you have been following me for a while you will know that I am passionate about Mums being in photos with their kids. Dads too of course, but I just have a feeling that Mums are missing out more.
In my house, I have to ask my husband to take a photo of me with my son. If Elijah and I are doing something together I will say to Stu, can you please take a quick photo of us. We don't have to stop what we are doing and look at the camera/phone, we just carry on and the moment is documented. I just naturally do it of my husband and son together - obviously because I am a phtoographer but maybe also because I am a mum and we work hard to document our families.
Anyway I feel really strongly about parents having photos WITH their children, not just OF their children.
Even if a family have booked only their children in for photos, I will almost always ask if the parents would like a photo too. We tend to be terribly hard on ourselves and don't want to be in photos but I promise you, your children will thank you for it.
Capturing moments that show your bond and love for each other is priceless.
